It Takes A Village!

Over the past 6–8 months, local resident and small business owner, Kaitlyn Class, has been bringing our community together through fun, family-friendly events hosted at Katz Pizza & Carryout.

From Music Bingo and trivia to craft nights, raffles, and other activities, these events have provided a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to gather, enjoy one another’s company, and support an important cause—our village playground.

We are excited to share that Hometown Nutrition has officially reached its first fundraising goal of $1,000!

This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity and participation of our residents. Every person who attended an event, purchased a raffle ticket, made a donation, or simply helped spread the word has played a part in reaching this goal.

Our community playground is in desperate need of some TLC. Our hope is to transform it into a welcoming, safe, and family-friendly place where children can play, families can spend time together, and neighbors of all ages can gather and build connections.

We know the overall fundraising goal is a significant one, especially as the cost of materials, equipment, and services continues to rise. However, we also know the strength of a small community comes from its willingness to come together and support something that benefits everyone.

Hometown Nutrition plans to continue hosting fundraising events approximately once a month, giving everyone more opportunities to have fun while contributing to the playground project.

We would also love to hear from you! What types of events would you be interested in attending? Your ideas and participation can help make these events even more successful.

Please keep an eye out for information about upcoming fundraising events. If you have questions or would like to get involved, additional information will be available at Katz Pizza & Carryout, through Hometown Nutrition, or by stopping by to visit with her at Victory Day and the Verona Fall Festival.

$1,000 raised is an incredible start, but this is only the beginning.

Thank you to Hometown Nutrition, Katz Pizza & Carryout, and everyone in our community who has helped make this possible. Together, we can create a playground and gathering place that our entire village can be proud of.

It truly takes a village—and ours is already showing what we can accomplish together.
